If you are new to Midlands Christian Church, we welcome you!
We are so glad that you are interested in learning more about us. We are a church that is committed to worshiping Christ and

The church has entered the season of the year known as Lent.  Lent is not the stuff you find in your dryer’s filter.  Rather, it is forty days of preparation for Easter.

We think of Lent as a time for reflection, repentance, and preparation, a time of giving up.  Even if you’ve never observed Lent, you may have heard of people giving up some food or habit for Lent.

While the season of Lent is not merely about austerity, about giving things up, the season of Lent does remind us that there are times when life gets hard.  There are times of suffering and austerity in life.  There are times when it seems as if life doesn’t just get hard, life is hard.

Jesus understood completely that life gets hard.  At the beginning of his ministry, the Spirit cast Jesus out into the desert where he was tempted by Satan for forty days.  Life got hard for Jesus at the very beginning of his ministry.  As we go through this season of Lent, we draw increasingly close to the cross where Jesus died for our sins.  Jesus understood that life gets hard.   During these weeks of Lent, we invite you to join us as our series of messages explores the theme, “When Life Gets Hard.”  Tim
